Such absurd good weather... (^^;)
Thanks to that, I'm rapidly losing hope
for a let-up from this syrupy mess... (T_T)

Well, compared to Kyoto summers,
Tokyo is entirely preferable, but still.
Really the valley is HOT! and
the humidity is just horrible...

Ah, not just memories, also sweat spurts forth. (^_^)

Speaking of... is this not the season
of the Gion Festival? *

I love that festival... Memories from when I was young...
Men, well, we're weak against women in yukata. (^_^) **

This is the season for festivals and fireworks displays.
Everybody! This is our chance to wear our yukata!

[ * gion matsuri: a festival in kyoto that spans the entire month of july. it started out as part of a purification ritual, and now it's a whole month of parties, w/ a big parade and floats and people in yukata. here are some pics of this year's floats. ** yukata: a summer kimono. kinda thin, usually springy colors, very cute. i myself am partial to chaps in yukata, rather than chicks, but WHATEVER. (^^)]
