[82] Night Watch - 2006/08/13 (Sun)

Because this film had a reputation as the Russian "Matrix"
I tried to see it right away.

It is a fantasy with a lot of 'light' vs 'dark' elements,
but there are also many expressive shots to see. It's quite artsy.
Of course, that is only compared to 'The Matrix.'

The production costs [of the two] varied widely. It seems this movie cost a mere 4 million dollars (about 500 million yen)
(The Matrix, by comparison, cost 63 million dollars (about 8 billion yen)),
so even lower budget movies seem to have become models for producing excellent visuals.

Incidentally, the 'prison break' speech recorded at the end of the DVD fit splendidly....
Everyone take care... Don't go to sleep. (!) *

[ * can't you just hear him laughing maniacally at this point?]
