[425] Mad for Melons (bwahahah) - 2007/07/30 (Mon)

Man oh man that thunder was terrible. (T_T)
Even inside my house it was seriously loud and rumbling.

I went out for a rainy day walk again, but this time, I avoided the tiled footpaths,
so instead I took a splendid slide on a manhole cover. (^^;)
I finally recovered from my lower back pain, and SLIP!! (T_T)
Seriously, what a klutz...

Today I had some musician friends over my house,
and had some melon with everybody. (^_^)
Not for desert, it was a snack to go with the wine and the beer-marinated ham. (^_^)

Of course, it was pretty quick to whip up,
but we're all a race of eating-outer's, (^_^)
so it was pretty popular. Even the brown rice. (^_^)

Well, I thinking we'd have a session where everyone wound up feeling slightly tipsy,
but by the time I realized it, I was on a Mac lecture, and I'd become everyone's sensei. (^_^)
I'm the tech head among my friends. (^^;)

Afterwards, while we were listening to a CD, I gave the standard audio lecture. (^_^)

Maaan, how can there not be more interest in audio stuff...
If I showed them my ten ten-thousand mini-components it'd be taking them along to another world.
Well, even I always had a radio-cassette player, until I woke up. (^_^)

One of my friends said, 'I need to buy a replacement, I've got to choose well~'
and I was instantly tempted to take him along to Akihabara. (^_^)

Ah well, everyone's gone home, so maybe I should tidy up now? (^_^)

[note: the title is, in japanese, meron ni meromero, meromero being the onomatopoeia for being a) fall-down drunk, or b) madly in love, so i tried for some cutsie english, too.]

[424] DRUG~ Did it get through? - 2007/07/29 (Sun)

I wonder if everybody feels like this eventually,
but people who play their guitar violently on stage,
what are they, my copy robot (bwahahah)
Does that happen a lot? (^_^) *

Man~ I get that a lot, 'Who's that?' (^_^)
Usually, well, my hair is ruffled like I just got out of bed, and my beard is all shaggy,
and I'm pretty laid back,
but you probably wouldn't guess it from my stage image, huh? (^_^)
Rather, you might think that I've got people with afros close by... (bwahahah)

That's why I always say, 'That's because of copy robots.'
Well, if that's true, may a hand appear from my throat or something. (^_^)

It's not that I become a different person particularly on purpose.
It's just that the stage is a special location where I can meet everyone,
so I go into serious mode. (^_^)

Of course, the afro is serious mode, too. (^_^)

Well then well then, everyone, have a nice weekend~

P.S. Bringing up the topic of that energy boost called Maka yet again (^_^)
it includes a lot of the required amino acids necessary to the create of growth hormones,
but actually, they're good for the prevention of aging. (seriously)
Better start drinking it. (^_^)

[ * wow, that paragraph was loose. my air conditioner's teh broke and so's my brain.(T_T) ]

[423] I'm hungry... - 2007/07/28 (Sat)

My body's made a little recovery,
but man~ my stomach was growling the whole time. (T_T)

My body still feels heavy,
so I'll continue the water one more day and night.

Also, in accordance with my prediction, my skin was shaky and slippery. *
As expected, the collagen effect!! is effective~

Mm? You think it might be more the Maka effect? (^_^)
Yeah yeah, that had some effect, too. (^_^)
My stomach was empty and I couldn't sleep,
but as soon as my eyes opened I was up, and I couldn't get back to sleep. (^^;)
This is some kind of torture, right...? (^_^)

Next time, when I'm tired, it'll be this. (bwahahah)
There'll be time for The Best later. (^_^)

P.S. It's slowly creeping toward fireworks season.
This year I bought a tripod, so I'll take pictures~

[ * i made a little error in yesterday's translation. i put "body" where he meant "skin." oops! (^^;) ]

[422] The Three Sacred Treasures? (hahahah) - 2007/07/27 (Fri)

Thanks to over-eating and over-drinking, I don't feel well... (^^;)
Thinking I'd get something soothing, I bought some medicinal drinks.

There's the standard turmeric, there's royal jelly, which is supposed to be good for your body,
and then I was attracted to the label: 'This is the best! Bright and healthy' (^_^) *

I tried drinking some yesterday, too, and even though my body got really heavy again,
I tried it again today as a test.

Slowly but surely my body's seriously reaching its limit, and it's intense.
Tomorrow, I won't drink anything but water all day. Flush out my body for once.

Incidentally, I ate out again today, (^^;)
but I had some gentle samgyetang. Tomorrow I'll have to shake my body. (^_^) **

Everyone take care not to eat and drink too much, okay?

[ * the 'bright and healthy' part isn't really literal, but i think the slogan is a weird play on the word makka which means deep red, like the red face you get when you've been running. hence the bottle is red. i'm not really sure.
** samgyetang is a korean dish, a little like chicken noodle soup with ginseng. it's got the same kind of reputation for health that chicken noodle soup does, too.
also, the title is in reference to the three national treasures of japan, a sword, a mirror, and a necklace. wikipedia's entry on them is here. ]

[421] Useless Effort Part 2 - 2007/07/26 (Thu)

Everybody seems to have enjoyed the Brain-Insides Maker. (^_^)

Today, I discovered yet another thing I don't need at the convenience store...
Black Oolong tea, Funwari Meijin, and now, this 'Analysis Tea.'

Man, with a name like that, it's got to be exciting, right? (^_^)
It's analysis, analysis!! (^_^)
Your interest in what the heck it's analysing just boils over, doesn't it?
Plus, when I looked at the ingredients, it's got Oolong tea, Tochuu tea, and turmeric tea in it.
I had high hopes after looking at that list. (^_^)

I drink, and I worry about flab, and I like fatty foods,
so as a person who is taking steps towards a metabolism with no mistakes,
the ingredients make me believe I have no choice but to drink this. (^_^)

Before, with black Oolong tea, I drank it, and then relaxed, and overate,
so this time, I will be careful. (^^;)
Also because I've been doing nothing but eating out lately...
If my body weight goes up too much, I won't be able to catch up with Billy. (^^;)

So, in order to become thin, I'll have to cook for myself...
Lately, I've retired the staple white rice in favor of brown rice.
It's a long-awaited change, but if I keep eating out, I'll never see the benefits.

I was thinking, By summer!!
If I could be thin by summertime, it'd be awesome... so. (^^;)

I'll have to have a presentable body by the next dance event though. (^_^)
Aah, seriously, how did this stomach happen... I guess I was born with it. (bwahahah)

P.S. Incidentally, are you continuing with Billy? My physical strength was doing quite well.
But somehow my stomach was coming along nicely too. (bwahahah)

[420] It's called Brain Inside Maker - 2007/07/25 (Wed)

Is this what's popular these days? ...
When I tried YOU as a test, the inside of the head was full of Hs ...

Well, it's alright I guess, but if I could just say one thing,
'How could I be a guy without H...' (^_^)
Being analysed as having only that inside my head is seriously worrying. (^_^)

...I say with confidence. (bwahahah)

Ah- pay no attention to that other guy. (^_^)

Everyone, go get analysed as a test~

P.S. My friends count keeps going up. I am, of course, the long one. (bwahahah)

[note: yeah, i was totally lost at first, too. the creepy topic of today's post can be found at http://maker.usoko.net/nounai/ where you will be prompted to input your name. it's been really busy lately (shock shock) but if you can get through to their server, you will be blessed with a cheerful image of the inside of your head, with text inside. of course, most of you don't speak japanese, but if you've got somewhere to save the image to, give me a buzz and i'll tell you what sort of creepy things showed up inside your head. i'd show you mine, but i can't get the server to load anymore. let's just say my head was made up of secrets, lies, love, and happiness. what i really don't get is the P.S., but i'm relatively certain that the translation is correct anyway...
day-after note: yeah, i suppose i should point this out for people who don't know, it's just so ingrained in my psyche that it seemed obvious to me. like 'the sky is blue.' what i'm referring to is that H in japanese stands for hentai, which means perversion, of the sexual kind, and has been broaded to mean sex in general. so yuu's head is full of sex. HRM. ]

[419] FIRE!!! (bwahahah) - 2007/07/24 (Tue)

H, hot...
It's been burning since morning. (^^;)

It wasn't until late today,
but at last the Hell Birthday Festival finished. (^_^)

Well, it wasn't that big of a thing,
and I thought with a small number of people it would be a modest party.

On the contrary, it was a huge deal...
Truly, thanks for filling up the time.

Thank you for being born in this world!!

P.S. Aaah... My stomach still hurts...
I haven't left the bathroom since this morning... (T_T)

22 July 2007

[418] Jigokunabe (^_^) - 2007/07/23 (Mon)

I went to a birthday party today, too.
A lot of my friends have July birthdays. (^^;)

Well, I went to chow down with my usual face,
but of course the person in charge of cooking was That Guy,
so he didn't just stop with ordinary cooking. (^_^)

It was, 'Bring all the cayenne peppers they've got in the store.' (bwahahah)

Man~ So it was kind of tough even for me. (seriously)
Sweat was spouting from my head, my nose wouldn't stop running,
it really gave me a good sweat. (^_^)

Now, my stomach is burning. (^^;) I'm scared of tomorrow... (T_T)

To me, even meals are a kind of training, you know. (^_^)
I must be more devoted!! (^_^)

Well then everyone, spicy foods in moderation. (bwahahah)
I'm always crying in the bathroom the next day. (^_^) 'FIRE!!!' (^_^)

[the title is a play on the various kinds of 'nabe' dishes he's used as titles in the past, such as motsunabe. in this case, though, jigoku means Hell, so it's like if Hell Pot were a style of cooking.]

[417] The World is a Profound Mystery - 2007/07/22 (Sun)

Man oh man, this world is truly nothing but mysteries...
Although if I say too much I'll end up looking silly,
I took this in an official place.
There's a lot of posts of that nature though. (^_^)

Well, with Daikon and Hikonyan,
I think there's been plenty of silly, but still. (^^;)

Only, there's just this one piece of important advice.
In this world, nothing is by chance, everything is destiny.

When I think back on it, things that I thought were chance
have become intertwined, leading up to this moment, and everything seems overwhelming.
The truly interesting thing is human life.

Today we had a birthday party for a friend by chance,
but lately, drinking with everybody has become a monthly ritual.
It's quite restorative; we have a fun night every time.
They say birds of a feather flock together, but even these meetings are destined.

Looking at it this way, meeting everybody was destined, too. (^_^)

If you think about it really really well, even being blessed with life in this world is a miracle.
There must be a meaning in each of us being born...

Entering Satori Mode...

P.S. Sorry... I ate that cake right up. (^^;)
There was cake right before my eyes... This, too, was destiny. (bwahahah)

20 July 2007

[416] It's a hit~ - 2007/07/21 (Sat)

The latest completely mysterious world, starting from all the talk about shrines.
I'm starting to want to believe in stuff like the invisible, love, and gods. (^_^)

Well, today, we'll be talking about fortune telling. (^_^)
Some say divinations work, some say it doesn't,
but fortune telling is a study of mankind's statistics,
so it's no necessarily an evil point of view, there are good results as well as bad results.

I think a lot of the people who like fortune telling are girls,
but I really like it, too.
When I was a student, I was into tarot, and told fortunes for a lot of my friends. (^_^)

I was frighteningly successful at it,
and also, my head always hurt after I did the predictions.
I had to stop for a while because of them (^^;)
and I haven't touched a tarot card since then.

Well, I got this book from a fan,
and man has it been a while since I've thought about those times.

You think about a yes or no question,
and flip the book to a random page,
but this, this is amazing. (^_^)
The answer they give is always a little worrying.

It doesn't give too many answers besides those that stick in my chest like SLAM,
and then I get afraid again, so I just seal it up for a while. (^_^)

Well, tarot and this book are a little different than statistics, (^^;)
man oh man is it mysterious, this world. That's what makes it so interesting though.

If divination works, if divination doesn't work...
I'll believe only the good results. (^_^)

[415] A Happiness Charm - 2007/07/20 (Fri)

Woah... When I read the BBS, it turns out people visit Kuzuryuu Shrine *
It's really nice over there.

A branch of the Kuzuryuu Shrine is right across from Hakone Shrine
but across the river is the main shrine.
They have a festival on the thirteenth day of every month,
and go to the main shrine via boat.

One time a while back I went out in the very early morning without any sleep,
and man~ there was an amazing amount of people for such an early time. (^_^)
With such a flourish of people, I wondered if maybe it was a wedding blessing.

The mysterious thing is, it was raining that day,
but when they started their divine work, the rain suddenly ceased,
and the waves on surface of Ashi no Ko beat against each other with splash.

Man oh man, the goosebumps were going full blast, but what else would you expect from a dragon god. (^_^)
People who like that kind of thing should check it out, early in the morning. (^^;)
I recommend it.

Well, getting to the main point (^_^)
Is anyone familiar with the 'Happiness Charm' in the photo?
It's a charm from the 'Bell Cricket Shrine' in Kyoto, **
It's a famous temple for marriage and love life. (^_^)

The sounds of bell crickets echo here all year round,
and you can listen to the lectures of the chief priest while eating tea cakes.

I used to go there a lot during my student days.
Although, I had a lot of unrequited love nonetheless. (^_^)
Ah- and tea cakes were never my goal. (^_^)

Things like that, isn't it best to call them by their full name? 'Koufuku omamori.'
Even now, I carry them around in my bag sometimes.

If you're in Kyoto, definitely give them a try.
I recommend those, too.

P.S. There's a surprising number of people who like temples and shrines.
I'm going to try and visit Izumo Temple.
After that, I'd like to go to the Grand Shrine at Ise, maybe eat some Akafuku. (bwahahah) ***

[ * lit the Nine-Headed Dragon Shrine.
** the popular name for the Mt Myoutoku Kegon Buddhist shrine in Kyoto.

*** akafukumochi, lit Red Happiness Rice Cakes, are, of course, a kind of confection. basically sticky rice cakes covered in sweet red bean paste.
also, sorry for the delay. all work and no play makes meredeth's brain very very mushy. ]

[414] A lot of thoughts - 2007/07/19 (Thu)

I'm certain they'll reach.
Hearts with human affection, warm feelings,
in this world, there's nothing more important than that, don't you think.
People can never go through life by themselves...
So all these feelings will reach the disaster areas...

Well then, I think I'd like to return to the normal diary. (^_^)

Yesterday, I talked about god,
so, does anyone have a favorite god?
Maybe we even have some people who go to church...

As for me, I usually go to Hakone Shrine.
When I'm in Kansai, it's places like the Yasaka Shrine, the Heian Shrine, the Mt. Hiei Enryaku Temple,
for stuff like the first temple visit of the year,
but since coming to the capital, it's always been Hakone Shrine.

Well, it's not that I'm particularly religious,
but shrines are power spots where people's thoughts and wishes gather,
and surrounded by forests with minus ions at full throttle,
the healing is just right.
With that austere atmosphere, even the spirit tightens right up.

Whenever I'm feeling crushed, or lost,
or my rhythm's off somehow, I pay it a visit
to reset my body and soul.

Eh? What is it I wish for?
Well of course that would be 'Satan Army World Domination!!' (^_^)

Well, all joking aside (^_^)
did anybody try visiting any temples while they were out this summer?
Maybe there was some new feeling.

My wish then of course wasn't 'Satan Army...' (^_^)

'That everyone in the world can live in peace and harmony...'

P.S. When I think about it really well, from the weeds by the side of the road to human beings, we are all children of the earth who is everyone's mother...
Only one earth, and only one life... Treat it well.

[ hakone shrine, as seen from the pictures i've been browsing, is gorgeous. oddly enough for yuu-kun, it seems to feature torii gates in the water as its main attraction. i'm thinking it's not a coincidence, his liking the place. here's one of the many sites about the place: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5204.html ]

[413] A lot of prayers - 2007/07/18 (Wed)

Humans are powerless against nature, aren't they...
If there is a god in this world,
it's probably nature.

In ancient times, Japan believed in the existance of gods as part of nature,
called the Myriad Gods (the yaorozu no kami),
and it was a nation of faith in nature.

The people of ancient times felt powerless against nature, too...
That's probably why they worshipped and made offerings to it as a god.

However, humans have been battling disaster since long ago.
No matter how many times they're knocked down by nature,
each time, people band together and rebuild.

Let's all do as much as we can, together.
Everyone's prayers can reach to the heavens...

Now let's hope for even one day of rest for everyone in the disaster areas.

P.S. If their hearts were healed even just a little, that would be wonderful.

[ yes, people. i know some of you are in japan. take it as easy as you can, and try not to get yourself killed in an earthquake. seriously... ]

16 July 2007

[412] Checking in with everyone. - 2007/07/16 (Mon)

I won't stop praying for the safety
of those hurt in the earthquake and typhoon...

The ones who become victims in natural disasters and always the aged and the children...
We end up losing the nation's treasures and the nation's future.
The exact ones we must protect the most... It's sad... (T_T)

It's only been one day, but I wish from my heart
for an end to the damage and for a quick reconstruction.

Even in Tokyo, you never know if there'll be an earthquake one day...
Living on the earthquake-prone chain of islands that is Japan, earthquakes will happen somewhere,
so you can't just pretend it's somebody's else's problem.

It's at exactly these kind of moments that Japan as a whole, each person, needs to support each other,
that's what I think.

Everyone be safe...

15 July 2007

[411] Iron Reinforced Concrete?? - 2007/07/16 (Mon)

Isn't that it...? (^_^)

In a continuance of yesterday,
Maaan~ is everyone of the 'Pop it' party? (^_^)
After talking to my doctor, it seems that touching pimples and acne is absolutely bad.
And if possible, only small amounts of topical medicine. *

But you worry and you worry and then you just go and pop it, don't you. (bwahahah)

As a method of coping, it seems that diligent face-washing would be best,
but when I washed my face every day with this face washing cream I bought at the dermatologist's,
My skin got overly dried, and I started to look like some parched alien,
so now I don't use that stuff. (^^;)

I'll run a bunch of trials with all the coping methods I've learned from everybody.
And just in case, I'll take my vitamins properly every day.

Until yesterday, the point of popping had a nice black mark about 1 cm in diameter,
and after a while it turned suitably blue, (^_^)
but today it seems have scabbed over and flaked off.
Then, that section was inflamed and red,
and without a moment's delay, I disinfected it.
Of course, I didn't touch it again (^_^) and it's quietly healing. **

With all that, today, one of my musician friends recommended
'tekKONkinKURIITO' for a watch. ***

It's been a while since I've seen any anime,
but the animation these days is truly amazing.
Even the subject matter was deep, and it was quite fun.

For me, the royalty of anime movies is 'Akira'
but I like this kind of outlook on the world, too.
I'd like to get some comics, too, so next time, I'll check it out. (^_^)

Well then, everyone, Enjoy the end of your vacation.

[ * literaly he says here paint-on medicine, a statement made infinitely more hilarious by the fact that the verb nuru also refers to lacquering or varnishing or lacquering something.
** ok, i know it's partly my own fault for waiting until dinner time to translate this couple of posts, but zOMG yuu! i'm trying to eat here! can we move on to the parts of this post that aren't disgusting? (^^;)
*** this title is a play on words, and sort of means Iron con Muscle crete. it's also a slight re-arraging of the word yuu used for this post's title, iron-reinforced concrete. the manga is from 1993/4 and apparently was called Black&White overseas. the movie version was released in december of last year in japan. ]

[410] Cooked in a pot... - 2007/07/14 (Sat)

and destroyed... (^_^)

Man, this is kind of funny, (^^;)
but yesterday, I found a pimple forming on my mouth,
and I know you're not supposed to touch them, but because it was my mouth, I went ahead and popped it anyway, (^^;)
and boom, it was a big stain. (pow!)

I thought it'd been a while since I'd met anyone face to face...
Man, I completely paid for that mistake...

I know it's bad to touch pimples and acne and stuff like that,
so why did I mess with it...

I could have tried some specific medicine I guess...
There's medicine that instantly cures you if you drink it, and medicine that instantly takes the swelling down if you put it on.
You can even go to a dermatologist, and get a prescription for antibiotics.

Of course, there's alway the path of self-healing.
Taking lots of vitamins and protein.

Everyone be careful of bad skin...
And DON'T mess with pimple and acne. (bwahahah)

P.S. A national typhoon? ... That'll put an end to my going out. (^_^)
It's a national holiday, but if you're going out, please be very careful.

13 July 2007

[409] The End of the Useless Effort (^^;) - 2007/07/14 (Sat)

I went and had some ice cream, and it's only day two. (*waterfalls of sweat*)
Man, you know, I was invited to dinner with that guy,
and of course after spicy food, we had some ice cream, just by mistake...

The ice cream was delicious though. (bwahahah)
What now? No excuse? you say...? (^_^)

Oh- but I didn't drink any alcohol,
so I making a little effort. (^_^)

Today, he was all excited with talk of the cameraman who came to take his picture today.
That photographer has taken hundreds of photos, from leading figures to anonymous people.
It's quite an experience, so that was all he wanted to talk about.

I see a lot of people who take photos,
and I know the feeling of someone being photographed,
and actually, I'm aiming to be the best photographer...
Suddenly, I had such thoughts. (^_^)

Talking with famous and influential people, it would be truly wonderous.
It would tower above everything, the atmosphere of the actual site of the photograph,
the clear vision of the photograph, even one's personality in the work.

At the thought of such an incident, my fighting spirit flared up. (^_^)
Photos and music, the genre's different, but the art is the same.
Plus, I myself love cameras. (^_^)

I will get my fighting spirit on and take some photos!!!
... To which you say, What now? Is this some kind of different mood... (^_^)

Yeah yeah, because one day my day job might be at risk. (^_^)

Well then well then, we've got a three-day holiday, so enjoy your days off. *

[ * it's obon festival! yaaays~ also, 'my day job might be at risk' ? is it possible for me to laugh any harder at that line? coz i'm trying not to give myself a hernia here. (bwahahah) as yuu-kun would say. ]

12 July 2007

[408] Useless effort Part 1 (^_^) - 2007/07/12 (Thu)

Instead of ice cream,
I had some frozen fruit. (^_^)

Of course, that didn't stop me from having dessert after the meal. (^_^)
Well, it's still preferable to ice cream...

With a sidelong glance at the delicious-looking ice creams lined up next to it,
I stood firm, and selected the pineapple.

Being able to buy frozen fruit at the convenience store,
man~ this world sure has become convenient.

They were selling blueberries there as well,
and they warmed my heart, like, 'These look good!' (^_^)
so I bought them at the same time.

Either way, for a smart choice, they're quite delicious. (^_^)

They had pineapples, blueberries, and another thing, mango for sale,
but to me, I'd want them to sell strawberries in that series, wouldn't you...

Try some frozen fruit for dessert this summer!!

P.S. Incidentally, in my freezer I found a Kyoho grape. (^_^)
Frozen Kyohos are delicious~

11 July 2007

[407] Before→After (^_^) - 2007/07/12 (Thu)

Recently, I've suddenly gotten plump. (^^;)
Ever since I started Billy, my appetite has grown daily,
and what was once muscle has steadily become fat. (*waterfalls of sweat*)

Eh? Overeating of Funwari Meijin? (^_^)
Yeah yeah yeah, as for that... I've decided, one bag a day. (bwahahah)

Man~ When I say it like that, I'll definitely be a different person in one month...
When I thought about it really well, I've been eating out ever since the end of last month,
and I've been going out drinking a lot, so that might be why I'm getting fatter, huh?

Until now, I've never gotten fat during the summer,
but rather it's the time for slimming down...
Isn't that healthy enough on its own? (^_^)

Well, my lifestyle is hyper-disorderly by nature anyway. (^^;)
Maybe it's just that I've been morbidly skinny until now.
Recently, my bedtime has disappeared, and I've been waking up in the morning.
The hours I'm awake has extended, so the amount of food I eat has increased. (^_^)

Despite the great flab reduction plan...
I ate to get relief from all the moving. (^_^)

I'll have to regroup and take care about what I eat starting tomorrow...
I'll not be tempted by sweet things nor sweet words. (^_^)

P.S. I saw at my friend's house 'Funwari Meijin'
and he said, 'I've been into these recently~ Aren't they delicious?'
As expected, I suppose. Birds of a feather flock together... (^_^)

10 July 2007

[406] Hikonyan Implementation Committee Meeting (^_^) - 2007/07/11 (Wed)

All this rain is depressing, isn't it.
This kind of moment calls for being cured
by 'Hikonyan' and some beautiful cherries. (^_^)

Yesterday my eyelids dropped while I was still on the sofa, my hands stretched out across my Mac, as usual. (^^;)
When I woke up, my neck hurt...
I was thinking, 'What should I write...?' and I guess I fell asleep still thinking about it. (^_^)

What a mystery. I'm a shut-in when the weather's good,
and then when it rains every day like this is I have business to go out and do. (^^;)
And it seems like I forget my umbrella every time. (^_^)

Also, rainy days make me really unsteady on my feet. (^_^)
Why do they use those tiles to cover footpaths?
When it rains, they get all slippery...
When I went for a walk yesterday, I fell pretty hard.
Well, I didn't actually fall down,
but thanks to that, my back is all twisted up. (T_T)

Everyone please take care... aitatata (^_^) *

P.S. Funwari Meijin are delicious, right? I found a 6 bag snack pack. (^_^)

[ * aittatata being, in this case, onomatopoeia for walking very carefully. also, could this post be any more adorable? he falls asleep on the couch hugging his laptop, he urges people to be careful with "aitatata" and he gets excited over a 6-pack of snacks. plus? maybe the whole "i forgot my umbrella" problem is sub-concious "hey pretty girls, offer me your umbrella" move. when do i get to move to japan so i can "coincidentally" just "happen" to have an umbrella at the right moment? ]

[405] Hikonyan? - 2007/07/09 (Mon)

According to my friend,
it's all the rage in Kansai lately,
but have any of you heard of it?
I guess it's a mascot character for Hikone Castle. *

My friend says, 'It's all kinds of popular~'
If it really is popular, this will be its national debut, maybe. (^_^)

Since I started this HP, thanks to Daikon-san,
I've gradually turned into some kind of fancy good critic. (^_^)
There really are a lot of different characters, aren't there~

'Hikonyan' huh... This is the first I've heard of him.
I'm sure I'll see him sooner or later in Tokyo though.

'Marimokkori' from Hokkaido is completely nationwide already, after all. (^_^)
No one can guess what the impact will be. (^_^)

Hikonyan, go for it. (^_^)

P.S. Speaking of, the other day was the Festival of the Weaver, wasn't it... I completely forgot. (bwahahah) **

[ * Hikone Castle is a castle/tower in Shiga prefecture. it is a designated national treasure, and traces its origin to 1603.
** quite ironic considering that the festival of the weaver, also called the star festival, is a day where you pray for your child's creative and artistic development. bwahahah indeed.
also, the name hikonyan is a combo of the castle's name and the japanese onomatopoeia for meow. so there ya go. nya~ ]

[404] Sleepy... - 2007/07/08 (Sun)

Yesterday, I went drinking all night,
and I dropped before I knew it. (^_^)

I was drinking until dawn, even though I did have proper things to do this morning.
Then I had a hangover, so I had a little more alcohol. (^^;)

I seem to have been quite restored by my recent nap, though. (^_^)

Even so, I predict an attack of impossible drowsiness. (^_^)

Trying to get some sleep at some point today,
I'm writing on a PC I borrowed at my destination. (^_^)
At times like these, the internet is really handy...

... Maybe writing in this diary will wake me up. (^_^)

P.S. It's hard writing on Windows when you're not used to it...

[403] The bear... - 2007/07/06 (Fri)

Is that a costume? he's wearing? (^_^)

When you say costume, it's supposed radically alter your appearence.
At lives for instance, the cats gasp and sweat buckets inside. (^_^)

Thinking of it like that, Disneyland and stuff like that must be extremely difficult.
Whenever I go for a visit, I can't think of anything else. (^_^)
Plus, if you dance around that much, and give perfomrances and stuff, it's quite... yeah.
Especially with the weather like this, I think it must be horrible.

Well, it's a dream country for the world (^_^) but it really is amazing.
It gives you a strangely professional natural motivation. (^_^)
Something like, 'Woah, I can do it, too!!' (^_^)

I might like to wear a costume one day...
I wore a wig once, but. (bwahahah)

P.S. I love theme parks,
but I don't really like big crowds of people. I haven't gone in so many years. (^^;)

[note: hi all you new people out there! that's right, you gackt-camui.net visitors, i mean you! happy to have you around, and thanks to yaonechan for mentioning me~]

[402] Funwari Meijin (^_^) - 2007/07/06 (Fri)

Well, every time is something boring,
so I'm sorry for that (^^;)
but how does everyone like 'Kinako' ? *

I love Japanese confections already,
but I have a special weakness for kinako stuff. (^_^)
Sticky rice cakes, obaki, shingenmochi, they are all tasty, don't you think? **

If you are a kinako fan, I would recommend to you this one item,
'Funwari Meijin' (^_^) ***

Ah- junk food again? Let's not say such things to each other. (^_^)
I bought them on impulse at the convenience store,
but these were a big hit for me, too, and now I've got a whole jar of them. (^_^)

These, well, the feeling of them floating in my mouth and them disappearing is really the best~
No matter what, they've always got a salty flavor, never that sweet flavor, but still.

Eventually, I'll settle my spending down... (^_^)
People who like kinako should definitely try buying them.

P.S. As far as my body goes, I should be careful not to get 'Funwari.' (bwahahah)

[ * 'kinako' is flour made from dried soy beans.
** obaki are rice balls coated with kinako and shingenmochi is actually a candy maker.

*** funwari meijin literally means something like Fluffy Master...

also, sorry for the delay, i just bought A NEW CAR~~~ ahem. yeah. ]

[401] Plastered~ - 2007/07/05 (Thu)

The hair of the dog that bit me. (^_^)
Uugh, my health is such a mess. (^_^)

It's exactly at times like this that I should do some Billy, don't you think? (^_^)
With all that sweat, the alcohol will drip out, too.

The number of enlistees around me has gone up. (^_^)
Everyone is downed by the first time. (^_^)

I couldn't do it much last week,
so even though I've finally grown accustomed to the base program,
it was seriously intense.

Well, but there wasn't any muscle pain at all,
so my insides must have been sufficiently upgraded. (^_^)

This week, the weather's supposed to be bad,
so I'll have to do my hygenic sweating in the house. (^_^)

P.S. Oh- I didn't get any cake...

[note: no cake! how horrible! also, and i know i'm a little late to this party, but i've finally gotten around to watching some of the SKIN videos on youtube. could they just release their album already? i need new awesome music.]

[400] Uuugh... - 2007/07/04 (Wed)

The birthday celebrations are never half way, are they...
People people people... sooo many people. (^_^)
We were chatting,
'How was LA?'
'Mm? It was perfect!'
but that was the whole converstaion... (^^;)

I'll have to give him my personal congratulations next time.
Well~ At any rate, I drank a lot...

Well then well then, we should have a toast today.
Everybody, 'Kanpai!!!'

[399] Ugh, hot... - 2007/07/03 (Tue)

Man oh man it is really hot every day. (T_T)
Even when it seems like it's going to rain, either it does rain at all,
or it stops as soon as it starts...
How many umbrellas have I lost thanks to that? (^_^)

Well, on hot days, of course you eat ice cream,
when even your head needs a refresher. (^_^)

When I looked in the freezer with just that thought, it was the last one...
Looks like it's time to stock up again. (^_^)

There are various camps on ice cream,
but I'm a Haagen-Dazs man.
The first time I ate it, when I was in high school,
I was deeply moved, like, 'Incredibly, so delicious!!' (^_^)
Ever since then, when I say ice cream, it's Haagen-Dazs.

The one I eat the most is Macadamia Nut.
After that is the Green Tea in the picture and Strawberry.
Every once in a while I'll have a bar coated in chocolate, too.
For some reason, I don't eat much of the standard Vanilla.

For straight Vanilla, I'm a Lady Borden man. (^_^)
In the end, it's the high class ice cream I longed for in my childhood. (^^;)
That rich feeling is tasty like I can't describe.

Hm, since we're talking about ice cream,
it's been a while since I had some Lady Borden. (^_^)
I'll have to buy some tomorrow.

P.S. I don't know if it's the billy effect, but my appetite has exploded since before. (^^;)
If I stop, I'll definitely get fat... (bwahahah)

[note: mm, aisu aisu~ i'm more of a ben & jerry's girl myself, specifically the cherry garcia camp. what i'm really wondering is how many fan-delivered pints of ice cream are going to show up at his doorstep now. (^_^) ]

[398] What that heck? - 2007/07/02 (Mon)

Well, it's a completely boring topic, (^^;)
but, look! I discovered black cotton swabs. (^_^)

As someone who uses all kinds of headphones and works with their ears,
cotton swabs are a must-have item,
but I didn't realize they came in black like this.

And the name? 'Dark Potential.' (^_^)

I just sort of spontaneously bought them~ (^_^)

When I first saw them,
I was kind of lost, like, 'Why black...?'
but when I looked at the label,
'Blah blah... Colored black so you can easily see the ear wax...'

Well, as for the point, they're just cotton swabs, (^_^)
but somehow they feel right for use by men.

But...
I have a mysterious hunch that the white cotton swabs are prettier. (^_^)

P.S. A year and a half has passed already...
Half a year left, still a little ways to go.
Brace yourself for a major spring cleaning in six month's time. (^_^)

[note: seriously, what the heck. this is a man way too excited about life. (^_^) also, japanese for blah blah is nani nani, which literally means what what. whot whot!]
