[466] The World of 3000m - 2007/09/12 (Wed)

So, from the eight tenths mark, the elevation passed 3000 metres.

From here, the cold was truly not half way. Strong winds keep the cold up, and it gradualy snatches away your body heat.

I had on long johns and a long sleeve tshirt that I use for snowboarding, plus a sauna shirt and a nehru * shirt plus a raincoat on top of that, and still my body was freezing to the core.

Also from the eight tenths mark, if you look up, there's some little mountain huts standing in a line. Resting in those conditions is just to get cold, as so I began the ascent to the target small huts one by one.

From here, the rocky area again becomes a gravel path, but the slope becomes extreme and intense, I slid one foot in front of the other... My strength was drained more than the rocky area.

My head was hurting so much I was stupid, and I was completely choking, plus my left foot was at its limit of pain, and the toughness of moutain climbing was gradually sinking in. (^_^)

Also, the eigth tenths mark was long. As we ascended, 'Eight tenths mark' was written inside the mountain huts, and it got a little unsettling, like, How the heck long have we been climbing and it still says Eight tenths mark.'

'Why the heck did I want to climb this thing for anyway...'
'Why would anyone want to climb this thing...'
'Is it tough like this all the way to the summit...'
'But if I don't absolutely absolutely make it to the summit...'

If you look the bottom, there's a superb night view.
If you look at the top, all the stars in the sky look so close you can reach out and touch them...
Being unmindful of things like that, I was already absolutely at my limit. (^^;)

Going from late at night until early in the morning, just the right temperature becoming the lowest temperature, my arms and legs were going numb from pain, my head was splitting, I could barely breathe, I could hardly lift my legs, frankly, at that moment, I was thinking 'Maybe this is enough... Seriously intense...' quite frequently...

When I looked at my watch, it'd already been three hours... I was still in the eigth tenths mark...
It was two hours till sunrise...

To be continued again. (^_^)

[ midge informed us of Nehru shirts. apparently high collars and long sleeves. sounds perfect for 3000+ meters. also, ACH! how mean yuu! making me wait a-whole-nother day to hear the end of it. that's just wrong. (^_^) ]

I thnk he did this to prove that he could do whatever he set his mind to. *So cheesy the way i put it* But, I must say, this makes walking around with a 50-lb school bag a piece of cake. :P Yay again for Yuu-kun. At least he's still alive, ne? lol ^.^

it's a Nehru shirt - high collared and long sleeved shirt, nice and toasty.
