[238] Speaking of, - 2007/01/11 (Thu)

I eat mandarins all year,
but it's been a while since I sat down at a kotatsu... *
Kotatsus and mandarin oranges are winter standards, so... (^_^)

In the old days, we didn't have air conditioners (^^;)
so eating mandarins and sitting at the kotatsu
was how you kept warm.

We used to toast rice cakes and things on the brazier.
Thinking about it now, having an open flame in the room was kind of dangerous. (^^;)

Then again, we can talk about heated bedding, and turn the conversation around to sleeping. (^_^)
I passed the winters just exactly like that.

It's just that they're so warm, kotatsus.
They warm your body and your mind, that's how I feel.

P.S. Hitting each other's feet under the table, that's a good distance, don't you think? (^_^)

[ * kotatsus are those little table things that are set into the ground and have a heat source underneath them. once again, tamaki-senpai has ruined a perfectly good japanese tradition for me. (^_^) ]
